WalneyIsle.co.uk is the product of a Yorkshireman, recently exiled/retired to said island. Retirement alone would probably have been insufficient motivation to create this web site; but the timely arrival of a Fuji Finepix S602 Zoom Pro digital camera (later upgraded to an S7000 and now on the look-out for another), and the prior existence of a web account in which to host the site, proved to be a combination too hard to resist.
Of course it doesn't hurt that Walney Island is so photogenic and so rich in history, and all locals are hereby invited to participate in documenting the many hidden delights that the area has to offer through the use of this site's comprehensive range of features.
